TAJ helping small business operators file annual returns

Tax Administration Jamaica’s (TAJ) annual Special Taxpayer Assistance Programme, which provides free preparation of  income tax returns and guidance to small business operators earning under J$3 million dollars is now underway.

It will run until the end of March.

Business persons and individuals, such as shopkeepers, landlords, taxi and bus operators, dressmakers, hairdressers, electricians, plumbers, farmers, can visit any of  the scheduled sessions to take advantage of  the service to meet the March 15 Income Tax due date.

As an added benefit, employers needing assistance to prepare their Annual Return due March 31 will also be able to utilize the programme.

This year 156 “tax help” sessions, which are being offered free of  cost, will be held at tax offices, community centres, church/school halls, branch libraries, court houses and other locations across the island.

Representatives from TAJ will be available to sit with individuals and small business operators to help them prepare their income tax returns and or payroll returns.
