Two brothers died in fire at home in Gregory Park

Two young brothers died in a fire at their home in Gregory Park, Portmore on Monday night.

The victims are a ten year-old autistic boy and his five year-old brother.

The fire occurred in an area of Gregory Park known locally as Mexico. The cause has not yet been ascertained.

A resident told our news team that he heard loud screams and rushed to the scene to offer assistance but his effort was futile.

Member of Parliament for St Catherine East Central Alando Terrelonge said he will be providing assistance to the affected family.

“I will be speaking to my colleagues as well in government, in particular,  Minister McKenzie at the local government level, to see how much more we can support the family,” he said, describing the situation as “an absolute tragedy.”
