T&T: Duty on hydraulic cement dropped to zero

The Government of Trinidad & Tobago recently announced a reduction of the duty on hydraulic cement to zero in order to mitigate the impact of a 7% price increase by Trinidad Cement. 
 
This is the fifth time TCL is hiking the price of the  commodity since December 2021, when it raised the price by 15.6%.
 
According to T&T's Ministry of Trade & Industry, there were also price increases of 7% in August 2022; 5% in March 2023; 7.6% in February 2024 and 7% in February 2025.
