The Trinidad and Tobago government says from next month, a new direct shipping route to boost trade with the Dutch island of Curacao will go into operation.
The start date is September 20.
The Trade Ministry said the timing of the service is ideal given that both countries initiated the negotiation of a Partial Scope Trade Agreement in July 2024.
Curacao has an approximate population of 150 thousand with a nominal GDP of US$3.8 billion in 2022 and a GDP per capita of US$20,501.
