Wigton Windfarm reports higher first quarter profit

Local renewable energy company Wigton Windfarm says it made higher profit in its first quarter ended June.
 
The company's latest un-audited results show post tax earnings of $166 million, up from the $68 million made after tax for the corresponding period in 2023.
 
Wigton says this was due to increased energy production, which resulted in higher sales.
 
Looking at revenues, WigtonWindfarm made over $622 million for the three months, up from $491 million last year.
 
Other income brought the quarter's total revenue to $712 million, a 15 per cent increase.
 
During the period, the company says it realized lower costs associated with sales and a decline in financial expenses.
 
Wigton says its looking forward to increasing its investments in clean energy.
 
Wigton says it's introduced a new trading name, Wigton Energy, "signaling transformation and a focus on renewable energy and clean technologies".
 
It expects this to boost profitability.
