Coach of Arnett Gardens Xavier Gilbert heaped praise on his team following their 1-0 win over Montego Bay United in the late game of a double header in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League on Monday night at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.
An 8th minute goal from Joel Jones proved to be the decider on the night in what was the feature encounter.
The win meant Arnett overtook Mo Bay United in the points standings to move into second place on 37 points, while Mo Bay slipped to third on 34 points.
Meanwhile, Theodore "Tappa" Whitemore, coach of league leaders Mount Pleasant, says they were never perturbed after defeating Racing United 3-2 in the first match of the double header to make it 8 wins on the trot.
Shaquille Bradford in the 9th and 68th minutes and Raheem Edwards in the 41st, were the scorers for Mount Pleasant who were recording their eighth consecutive victory.
Racing's goals came courtesy of Dijion Grant in the 73rd minute and Stevaughn Spence in added time.
Mount Pleasant's Gadail Irving was shown a red card just after the break. The victory takes Mount Pleasant to 40 points, 7 clear of the chasing pack. Racing are 11th on 15 points.
