Norma Shirley is dead

Jamaica's most famous chef is dead.

Norma Shirley, purveyor of food to stylish audiences locally and overseas, died in the University Hospital of the West Indies Monday afternoon following a brief illness.

She was 70 years old.

Ms. Shirley was a former partner in the popular restaurant, Norma's on the Terrace, at Devon House.

Prior to her passing Ms. Shirley had branched off into her own restaurant business, which was also housed on the Devon House compound.
