Interested applicants for the post of managing director of the Transport Authority have until January 11 to submit their resumes as an official search to fill the post begins.
The post became vacant after the November 30 sacking of managing director Daniel Dawes, by the board of the state-run regulatory agency.
A recent newspaper advertisement stated the prospective applicant will be responsible for planning, directing and controlling the operations of the Transport Authority in accordance with agreed Government policies and the Board's directives.
Responsibilities include establishing long and short-term strategic objectives/goals and monitoring progress towards their achievement among other things.
Mr. Dawes had come under fire from some employees and scores of bus and taxi operators over his stewardship.
On November 13 approximately 50 administrative employees reported sick while calling for his resignation.
They were joined in their call by executive members of at least four transport associations who also claimed they were frustrated with the managing director's management style.
Following the protest the transport ministry appointed a committee to investigate the concerns highlighted by the various groups.
