Months after millions of dollars was spent to refurbish the Balaclava Police Station and cellblock in St. Elizabeth, the facility is now without a service vehicle.
This is hampering the police in carrying out some of their duties.
Councillor Everton Fisher, of the Balaclava Division, said he understands that some police have resorted to using their personal vehicles.
At a recent meeting, Deputy Superintendent Police Catherine Lord, who heads the St. Elizabeth Police said the division is experiencing a shortage of vehicles.
However, DSP Lord said two nearby stations in Maggotty and Siloah, along with the Operation Support Team have been asked to provide vehicular support to Balaclava.
