Ackera Nugent stormed to victory in the women's 100 metres at the ongoing Grand Slam Track leg in Miami on Saturday. Nugent clocked 11.09 seconds to win, while another Jamaican, Megan Tapper was second in a new personal best of 11.33.
Oblique Seville and Ackeem Blake had to settle for second and third respectively in the men's 100 metres. In a 2.4 metres per second tail wind, Seville clocked 9.84, while Blake did 9.85 seconds. The race was won by American Kenny Bednarek in 9.78 seconds.
In the women's 400 metre hurdles, Andrenette Knight placed second, stopping the clock at 54.08 seconds. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone won in a time 52.07 seconds. Another Jamaican, Shiann Salmon was fourth in 54.62 seconds.
