A senator in Barbados has called for a special agriculture school in the country.
Senator Dr Chelston Brathwaite said it is necessary to meet the level of agricultural development that is being proposed.
During his presentation, he said agriculture requires skilled, highly-trained technical expertise that is critical to the sector.
He contends that more support should be given to farmers to allow for trade and participation in the global economy.
