The West Indies have avoided a clean sweep by England in their five match T20 International series after winning the penultimate game at the Darren Sammy Stadium in St Lucia by 5 wickets on Saturday evening.
Chasing 219 for victory, the Caribbean side replied with 221-5 off 19 overs to achieve victory. This was their highest run chase in T20 internationals.
A 136 run opening partnership between Evin Lewis and Shai Hope laid the foundation for the victory,
Lewis blasted a top score of 68 off 32 balls with 4 fours and 7 sixes, while hope smashed 54 off 24 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes.
Captain Rovman Powell also cracked 38 off 23 balls and Sherfane Rutherford an unbeaten 29 off 17 deliveries, as the Caribbean side pulled one back in the series to now trail 3-1. Rehan Ahmed took 3-43 for the English.
Earlier, England sent to bat posted to 218-5 off their allotted 20 overs.
Jacob Bethell top scored with 62 from 32 balls inclusive of 4 fours and 5 sixes. He got support from Phil Salt who made 55.
Gudakesh Motie took 2-40 for the Windies, while there was a wicket each for Roston Chase and Alzarri Joseph.
The 5th and final match will also be a day/night encounter at the Darren Sammy Stadium on Sunday starting at 3:00 pm Jamaica time.
