Brothers who perished in Westmoreland house fire laid to rest

Father of the deceased boys, Adrian Laing

The three boys who died in a fire in Westmoreland in September were buried earlier today.

Scores of mourners gathered at the Footprints Seventh-Day Adventist Church to say goodbye to eight-year-old Adriano Laing and his twin brothers Jorden and Jayden Laing who were seven.

Their father, Adrian Laing, expressed his sadness and explained how he has been coping with the loss.

He says processing the death of his three sons has been hard and he has cried a lot since the incident.

His daughter, 13-year-old Adrianna Laing, who suffered life threatening burns in the same fire, is in the United States where she is undergoing extensive medical care with the help of the Sanmerna foundation.

Stephen Josephs, Project Manager for the Sanmerna Foundation, gave an update on her progress thus far.

Mr. Josephs says after 39 days in the ICU Adrianna is responding favourably to treatment, and she is "up there speaking her creole."
