Codes of Practice being developed for disabled passengers on public passenger vehicles

The Ministry of  Labour & Social Security is developing a code of  practice for public passenger vehicles to ensure that persons with disabilities have better access to transportation.

Portfolio Minister Karl Samuda announced this development on Friday in his message at the Public Sector Management Sensitization Session.

He said that, so far, his Ministry has completed three codes of  practice for the disabled.

These include the Code of  Practice for Employment, Code of  Practice for Education and Training, and the Code of  Practice for Health Care and Health Facilities.

Mr. Samuda said the government will continue to enact legislation and regulations to ensure that persons with disabilities can perform at their best in their workplaces and communities.
