The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation has announced that the Coronation Market in downtown Kingston will be closed Saturday evening to be cleaned and sanitized.
The market will reopen on Wednesday evening.
Mayor of Kingston Delroy Williams said vendors have been informed of the decision.
He explained that the market is usually cleaned on a Sunday and reopened on Monday but because of the special circumstances, the sanitisation process will take four days.
