The Caribbean Examinations Council is expected to convene a meeting on Friday in relation to the holding of its exams this year.
Chief Education Officer Dr. Kasan Troupe says regional education ministries are to hear the exam body's final decision regarding the format of the exams.
Following that meeting, Dr. Troupe said the education ministry will meet with principals to "sensitise them of the final directive with respect to the sitting" and discuss the way forward.

She said the ministry is also exploring possible adjustments to the Primary Exit Profile (PEP) exams.
"Once there are changes in the spike, we have different options available to decide how we transition our boys and girls. We are awaiting further updates from a psychometrician and then we will convene with our principals to discuss the possible adjustments and by what time we will be able to take those decisions," she said.
