A 48-hour curfew is in effect across sections of Parry Town, Ocho Rios, St. Ann in response to a deadly gun attack that left two men dead and another seriously wounded in the Ocho Rios area Saturday night.
The curfew began at 6 p.m. Sunday and will remain in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The curfew runs north along an imaginary line from the entrance of Parry Town to a section of the Gaza district; east along an imaginary line through to the Gaza district to the road cordon.
For the southern section, the security measure runs along an imaginary line from the endpoint of the road cordon to a section above Kellington and west along an imaginary line from Kellington, leading to the entrance of Parry Town and on to the road cordon.
The police say during the hours of the curfew, all persons within its boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorised by the ground commander.
On Saturday, 56-year-old Paul Brooks, otherwise called 'Matterhorn', a shop owner, 30-year-old Lamar Lynch, otherwise called 'Buju', a warehouse assistant, both of Parry Town and another man were shot and injured.
Mr. Brooks and Mr. Lynch were pronounced dead at hospital while the other man was hospitalised in serious condition.
