Despite the latest pronouncements by the Government, President of the Jamaica Medical Doctors Association, Dr. Mindi Fitz-Henley has asserted that doctors are still focused on their demands in the wage negotiations.

Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke announced on Tuesday $6.4 billion has been set aside in this year's budget for wage increases to junior doctors.

Dr. Fitz-Henley, reacting to his presentation on Radio Jamaica's Beyond the Headlines, said while the doctors welcome the announcement, there are other issues that need to be addressed.

She has responded positively however to the Finance Minister's announcement that permanent posts will be created for doctors now on contract.
