Residents of May Pen, Clarendon speaking with the police
Forty-eight people were arrested for breaches of the Disaster Risk Management Act in May Pen, Clarendon.
Superintendent Christopher Phillips, head of Operations for the Clarendon Police, confirmed the arrests.
Some of the individuals who were seen in public after the 10 o'clock curfew said they were unable to get transportation home.
Radio Jamaica's Clarendon correspondent, Hopeton Henry, was present during an interaction with the police and some of the residents, who indicated they were still on the road after curfew hours because they were awaiting transportation.
St. Elizabeth
In St. Elizabeth, twenty people were detained after they were seen at an illegal party.
The police were patrolling the Brompton/Crawford area when they saw the party at Galleon Beach.
Some of the patrons fled.
The police took the 20 people, including the two promoters, into custody.
They were taken to Black River Police Station and charged with breaching the Disaster Risk Management Act.
Deputy Superintendent Narda Simms, head of the St. Elizabeth Police Division, told Radio Jamaica News that the two promoters have also been charged with not having an entertainment permit and breaching the Noise Abatement Act.
