Dr Marsha Black-Chen
Senior Lecturer at Mico University College, Dr Marsha Black-Chen, is supporting the use of master teachers to significantly improve the delivery of online lessons in Jamaica.
A recent proposal by retired economics lecturer Dr Michael Witter for transformation of the education sector has suggested greater use of master teachers whose lessons would be shared widely in an attempt to improve student outcomes.
Dr. Black-Chen, speaking Monday on Radio Jamaica's Beyond the Headlines, asserted that many of the challenges experienced with online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic could have been resolved with the use of these teachers.
She also wants to see greater parent involvement in the process.
