Emergency surgeries only at Spanish Town Hospital as renovation begins

Effective Monday, the operating theatre at Spanish Town Hospital in St. Catherine will be closed for five weeks to facilitate urgent repairs.

A release from the South East Regional Health Authority states that during this period only emergency surgeries will be done at the hospital, while routine elective surgeries will be done at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Kingston.

Arrangements have also been made for urgent elective surgeries to be done at Kingston Public Hospital.

The renovation of  the Spanish Town Hospital operating theatre is a part of  the South East Regional Health Authority's drive to improve operating theatres at the nine hospitals that fall under its jurisdiction.
