Finance Ministry employee facing corruption charges

An employee of the Ministry of Finance has been arrested and charged by the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) after allegedly accepting funds from a member of the public to fast-track the motor vehicle duty concession approval process.

In a release Friday afternoon, the Finance Ministry said the staff member was charged with corruptly soliciting and accepting funds from a member of the public.

The staff member, whose identity was not released, was offered bail in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court.

The next court appearance will be on Friday.
