Four people including two women were killed at a property outside Lakeland, Florida, in the United States on Sunday.
An 11-year-old girl, who was shot seven times, survived the attack.
The suspect, 33-year-old Brian Riley, who is a former marine, was arrested.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told a new conference that Mr. Riley was so aggressive that he tried to wrestle a gun from the police while on his hospital gurney.
The sheriff said Mr. Riley, who served as a sharpshooter in Iraq and Afghanistan, seemed to have targeted his victims at random and appeared to be suffering from mental health issues.
