Four men were shot in an attack along Text Lane in Central Kingston, Friday afternoon.
Reports are about 1 p.m., a group of men was working on a construction site in a gully in the area, when armed men on a motorcycle drove up and opened fire on them.
Four of the men were wounded and are being treated at hospital.
Superintendent Bereford Williams, head of the Kigston Central Police, told Radio Jamaica News that investigators are trying to establish whether the attack stemmed from an ongoing gang conflict in the area.
