Kingston man fatally shot during reported confrontation with police

A man was fatally shot during a reported confrontation on Wednesday with the police in Kingston.
 
He has been identified as 33-year-old Anthony Calvert, otherwise called 'Toni', of 14 Potters Row Kingston 16.
 
It's reported that sometime after midday, officers were conducting a targeted raid in search of prohibited weapons at the home of Mr. Calvert. 
 
The police, upon entering the yard, proceeded to the rear of the premises where Mr. Calvert was reported seen standing in the doorway. 
 
The police reported that Mr. Calvert retreated into the house after seeing them.
 
He reportedly pointed a shotgun at the police who fired several shots hitting him.
 
The firearm was retrieved and Mr. Calvert was taken to the Kingston public Hospital where he was pronounced dead 
 
This brings to 16 the number of police fatal shootings INDECOM is investigating.
