RJR News has been informed about heightened security activities at the US Embassy on Old Hope Road in Kingston.
Sources have confirmed that Senior Jamaica Defence Force and Jamaica Constabulary Force personnel were dispatched to the Embassy to investigate what could be a reported breach.
According to our sources, a man was said to have thrown a bag over the perimetre wall of the embassy.
This sparked an emergency response putting a hold on normal day to day activities.
RJR News understands that US Marines are now on the roof of the building and other strategic locations as part of the response.
A JDF helicopter is also assisting with aerial surveillance.
