Jamaican Canadian man drowns in Manchester

A Jamaican-born Canadian man who was visiting the island, drowned at the Alligator Pond Beach in Manchester on Monday.
 
Investigators say 23-year-old Treveno Sutherland, of Etobicoke, Ontario, went to the beach with other family members from Canada.
 
While swimming, Sutherland reportedly got into difficulties and was submerged in the water.
 
He was rescued by a passerby who attempted to resuscitate him, but all efforts failed.
 
He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
