The negotiating team of the Jamaica Teachers' Association (JTA) met on Wednesday with the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service.
In a release, the JTA said although there was favourable consideration given to some of the outstanding items of their claim, the item of percentage increase was not addressed.
The Ministry of Finance and the Public Service, it said, indicated that the Cabinet would be meeting on Monday, January 8 to discuss some of the items submitted for consideration.
The JTA is demanding a response from the Cabinet by 5 p.m. on Monday following that meeting.
The Association said it remains resolute in defending the cause of the teachers of Jamaica who are fed up with the delaying tactics being employed by the Government.
