Lawrence Rowe
Former People's National Party caretaker for Kingston Central Lawrence Rowe is taking issue with the manner in which the party's hierarchy has removed him from its slate of candidates for the upcoming parliamentary election.
The party is due to present former crime fighter Steve McGregor as its standard bearer in the constituency.
The PNP leadership wrote to Mr Rowe advising him that the party would not be continuing with him as caretaker for the constituency.
Mr Rowe, in response, said being a son of the constituency, he has remained committed to the well being of Central Kingston.
He has promised to address the reports that have been circulating regarding his removal.
The People's National Party, in response, has described as spurious claims by Rowe that he was forced out of the position arising from a breakdown in negotiations with the party.
The PNP says such claims contradict the Party's long-standing policies and practices.
It added that, while such claims may be intriguing to some, the party remains focused on upholding the principles of transparency and good governance.
The PNP says the matter will be addressed at a time convenient to the Party.
