St. Thomas recorded its first murder for 2018 following the shooting death of a man in Morant Bay.
He has been identified as 40 year old Otis Williams, otherwise called 'Carlos' of Old Harbour, St. Catherine.
It is reported that about 6 p.m., Mr. Williams went to the NSWMA dump at Church Corner in Morant Bay where he had pulled down an unoccupied board house owned by his brother to re-erect it elsewhere.
After completion, Mr. Williams was awaiting transportation for the material when a gunman attacked him.
He was shot in the chest and died on the spot.
No motive has been established.
