No shortage of medical oxygen, says supplier

Jamaica's sole supplier of medical oxygen, IGL, has said there is no truth to a claim by the Jamaica Medical Doctors Association (JMDA) that there is a shortage of the gas.

Earlier on Monday, the JMDA said some hospitals were again running out of medical oxygen.

However, when contacted Monday afternoon, IGL's Managing Director Peter Graham said hospitals have adequate supplies of oxygen and he was not aware of a shortage.

Radio Jamaica News also spoke with officials of the University Hospital of the West Indies and Spanish Town, Mandeville Regional, May Pen and Cornwall Regional Hospital, who also confirmed they were not running low on medical oxygen.
