NWA to clean drains ahead of hurricane season

The National Works Agency (NWA) is to carry out a major drain cleaning programme as part of preparations for the hurricane season.
 
Varden Downer, Senior Director of Projects and Implementation at the NWA, said the programme will be carried out in three phases. 
 
The first will begin at the start of the season at the end of May to June. The second phase will be done in the summer months, while the final phase of cleaning is done at the end of the hurricane season in November/December.
 
The Atlantic hurricane season begins on June 1 and ends November 30.
