The St Catherine South Police have launched a search for a group of armed men who carried out a deadly attack in Old Harbour, leaving a woman dead and her three year-old child wounded.
She has been identified as 20 year-old Dajahmae Wright, of Marlie Mount.
The police say, about 4:40 a.m., Wright was at home with her son when persons, posing as police personnel, entered the yard and shouted "police!"
Wright reportedly opened the door and was shot multiple times. The child received gunshot wounds to his left leg.
They were taken to hospital, where Ms Wright was pronounced dead and the child treated.
The St Catherine South Police say no motive has been established for the attack.
