Plane skids off taxiway at Guyana's Cheddi Jagan International Airport

An Eastern Airlines plane arriving from Miami, Florida skidded off the taxiway at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport in Guyana Wednesday afternoon.

An official at the airport said the incident could be attributed to pilot error, as the plane landed with ease on the extended runway.

There were just over 200 Guyanese onboard – all of whom were previously stranded in the United States.

There was no report of injury.
