The Police Federation is to send its counter proposal to the Ministry of Finance this week following the conclusion of its consultation and analysis of the four-year wage offer from the Government, which the Federation has rejected.
In a message to its members on Monday, the executive of the Federation said the proposal was extremely disappointing.
Like other unions, the Government has offered the police a 16 per cent increase over four years.
In its proposal to rank and file members of the Force, the Government has offered payment for holidays for 2017 and 2018, and a slight increase on added hours.
There is also a proposal for a slight increase on non-monetary items.
The Police Federation says no increase on allowances were entertained, based on the current wage policy of the Government.
Buses
In the meantime, the Police Federation is urging the Government to act more urgently in the acquisition of buses to assist with the transportation of its members.
Last year, the Ministry of National Security handed over a 30 seater bus to the Federation.
The Federation says the bus only transports members who work and reside in the Corporate Area.
It adds that the Ministry of Finance, in its current wage and fringe benefits proposal, has stated that the Government will provide additional buses for rank and file members, but has failed to indicate a timeline for the acquisition.
