The Police High Command has confirmed that an internal investigation has been launched into an incident in which an off duty police officer was involved in an assault of a man and a woman at an event on the weekend.
The incident reportedly involved two Tiktokers.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force says the investigation, being conducted through its Inspectorate Professional Standards Oversight Bureau, will determine the facts,including whether any policy was breached.
The JCF says it was made aware of the incident and the reported connection to a member after it was raised publicly by a talk show host, and the matter has since become the subject of a probe by the Independent Commission of Investigations.
It says the JCF has handed over all relevant information to INDECOM and will fully cooperate with their investigation.
The High Command says it takes these allegations seriously and is committed to transparency and accountability.
