Police yearning for murders to fall below a thousand this year

The Police High Command is calling for all a united effort to keep murders below one thousand this year, in a major push to make the country less insecure. 
 
The country ended 2024 with 1,139 murders or 19 per cent fewer than in 2023.
 
Assistant Commissioner Glen Miller, commanding officer for Area 1, declared on Sunday that the lcurrent evel of criminality in the country should not be allowed to continue.
 
ACP Miller, speaking at a church service at the Bounty Hall New Testament Church in Trelawny, said the police will be playing their part in going after criminals. 
 
But he said civilians also have a role to play and urged them not to support criminals.
