Probe underway after COVID vaccine doses go missing from Cornwall Regional Hospital

Errol Greene, Regional Director of the Western Regional Health Authority

The Western Regional Health Authority has sent its internal auditor to the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St. James to investigate the disappearance of a vial containing the covid-19 vaccine.

Radio Jamaica News earlier reported that the vial was discovered missing last night.

Each vial contains at least 10 doses of the vaccine.

Errol Greene, Regional Director of the Western Regional Health Authority, confirmed that a probe is underway after a report was made to the regional director and technical director.

"I've asked the internal auditor to immediately go and take position of the site and to conduct an investigation as to what happened," he told Radio Jamaica News.

Mr. Greene said he is confident "everything is in order at the other vaccination sites within the region."
