Probe underway into shooting which left two dead, cop wounded in Kingston

Police from the Kingston Central Division and investigators from the Indepenent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) are continuing their probe into a shootout Friday morning in which two men were killed and a police officer injured.
 
According to the police, sometime after 10 o'clock, a group of men travelling in a motor car shot and killed a man in the vicinity of Orange Street, downtown Kingston.
 
Superintendent Beresford Williams, head of the Kingston Central Police Division, said the men were making their get-a-way when they encountered police officers. 
 
"They engaged a group of policemen who returned fire during which at least two of the perpetrators were shot. One we know died from the shootout. We know the vehicle subsequently crashed, and the driver of the vehicle was found appearing to be dead," said Superintendent Williams. 
 
A firearm was recovered.
