Public sector dental surgeons awaiting response from government on salary increase

UCASE President Vincent Morrison

Dental surgeons employed in the public health sector are awaiting a response from the Ministry of Finance & The Public Service regarding a proposal they sent last week in relation to wage negotiations.

Vincent Morrison, President of the Union of Clerical, Administrative and Supervisory Employees (UCASE), told Radio Jamaica News that the dental surgeons are willing to continue the talks until their demands are met.

While expressing disappointment at how long it has been taking the Ministry to respond to the dental surgeons' proposal, "taking into consideration certain timelines," he said the dental surgeons are prepared to be patient, if it means they ultimately secure "a reasonable deal".
