There was a peaceful protest on Tuesday at Moy Hall in Redding, St. James by residents who are questioning the delay in rehabilitating the road in their community which was dug up to facilitate a pipe laying project.

The National Water Commission project was started in December 2023.

The placard-bearing residents have rejected the temporary fix of spreading marl along the roadway which they say is washed away after heavy rainfall.

"Let them know that this is just the smoke and if we don't get attention immediately, then we going take this further, much more serious and more severe. So we're asking the Member of Parliament and the councillor to come. They made us a three-week promise to do a mega project, and we know it could be done in three weeks. It has now gone 11 months and seven days, and nothing," one man bemoaned.

The Moy Hall community is in the constituency of St. James West Central, represented by Marlene Malahoo Forte.
