Second victim dies following drive-by shooting in Manchester

The Major Investigation Division (MID) is leading investigations into Saturday morning's drive-by shooting in Mandeville which has been upgraded to a double murder after the second victim died on Tuesday.

Dale Clarke, a 37-year-old of Caledonia Avenue, Manchester, died at the Mandeville Regional Hospital.

The other victim, Romario Allen, otherwise called 'Rue Rue', died on Sunday.

The men were among patrons outside a night club on Ward Avenue Saturday morning when a motor car drove up and the occupants opened gunfire.

When the shooting subsided, Mr. Clarke and Mr. Allen were seen with bullet wounds.

Superintendent Shane McCalla, Commanding Officer for the Manchester Division, told Radio Jamaica News on Wednesday morning that the MID is following a credible lead.

Superintendent McCalla said contrary to media reports, investigations so far do not suggest that there is a link between the shooting on Ward Avenue and a double murder in Greenvale on August 5.
