Commander George Overton, Director of Communication for Guardsman Group
Three security guards attached to Guardsman Group were shot by gunmen during a robbery attempt on Main Street in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth Wednesday morning.
One of the guards has died.
The three guards, were pounced on by robbers outside a Western Union outlet about 8:15 a.m.
They were injured during a shootout.
The robbers escaped in a white car.
Commander George Overton, Director of Communication for Guardsman Group, told Radio Jamaica News the group has not yet been given access to the scene to conduct an assessment of the cargo.
It's not clear if money was stolen.
