MBU blank Molynes United to move to the summit of the JPL

Montego Bay United moved atop the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League table after blanking Molynes United 4-0 at the Montego Bay Sports Complex on Wednesday.  

Shaniel Thomas led the way for Mo Bay United with a double in the 27th and 60th minutes. Owayne Gordon with a 25th minute penalty and Brian Brown in the 75th, were the other scorers for Mo Bay United as they moved to 12 points. 

5th placed Mount Pleasant held hosts and 8th placed Arnett Gardens to 1-1 draw in the other late match at Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.

In what was the second match of a double header at the venue, Kimani Arbouine gave Arnett the lead in the 13th minute before Kimoni Bailey equalized for Mount Pleasant in the 42nd minute.  

Earlier, goals from Damari Deacon in the 35th minute and Gawain Austin in the 45th, gave Chapelton Maroons a 2-0 win over Humble Lion in the first match of the double header. Both teams ended with 10 players. It was Chapelton's second win of the season, while Humble Lion remained winless.

Elsewhere on the day, third placed Portmore United edged 6th placed Harbour View 2-1 at the Compound. Tedj Bryan gave Portmore a second minute lead, but that was cancelled out by Rohan Brown. Shaquwell Henry would find the winner for Portmore in the 74th minute. Fourth placed Waterhouse got the better of Vere United 2-1 in their contest at the Drewsland Stadium.

The matches between reigning champions Cavalier and Racing United and Tivoli and Dunbeholden were postponed due to poor weather.
