Several men have been detained over the last two days as members of the security forces target suspects behind a flare-up of violence in Tucker, St. James.
More people were detained today in a major cordon and search operation in the community.
A curfew was imposed in the area on Thursday after seven houses were firebombed and a Toyota Voxy set ablaze during a violent outbreak Wednesday night.
Fire personnel who attempted to enter the community to extinguish the blaze were forced to retreat due to a burst of gunfire.
The fire-bombings followed Tuesday's killing of two men from the Tucker community.
Twenty-four-year-old Rexford Jarrett and 29-year-old Orane Reid, otherwise called 'Hagga', were killed when armed thugs sprayed bullets on a vehicle in which they were passengers at Gut Bottom in Granville.
A senior investigator told Radio Jamaica News that men from the rival 13 Street and Tucker gangs have been engaged in the bloody conflict over the last few weeks.
The police and military have launched a manhunt for the main players behind the violence.
