JCC President, Lloyd Distant, says Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises have been hit hard by the pandemic and some entities have reported a fall-off in business.
”Businesses continue to be challenged, there is an overall drop in economic activity. We see results coming from the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) in terms of the impact on the economy overall. Businesses are suffering - some businesses such as MSMEs have had to consider closing their doors permanently as the pandemic has been having a real negative impact on the prospects for our members.”
He also said that he expects more businesses to be affected as the country grapples with community spread of the coronavirus.
