The curfew in effect in Tank Lane, Marson Town, and Crooked River in St. Mary, initially set for 48 hours, has been extended for an additional 48 hours.
The extension took effect at 6:00 p.m., Sunday and the curfew remains in place until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday.
The curfew was imposed in response to recent incidents of violence and increased tensions within the affected communities.
This extension forms part of strategic efforts by the police to suppress criminal activity, prevent reprisals, and restore calm and order.
During the hours of the curfew, all persons within the boundaries are required to remain inside their premises, unless otherwise authorized in writing by the Ground Commander.
The police are urging all residents to fully cooperate with law enforcement.
