St Vincent Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves last night confirmed that there has been one death associated with the passage of Hurricane Beryl.
In an address to the nation, Mr Gonsalves said the storm left immense damage, pain, and suffering on the island.
He said 90 per cent of the houses on Union Island have been severely damaged or destroyed.
Other buildings, including the airport, have had their roofs destroyed.
The country is still without electricity, and there is also a water shortage.
