Thousands to cast ballots today in St. Kitts and Nevis election

Some 50,933 people are registered to cast ballots in today's general election in St. Kitts and Nevis.
 
Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris was forced to call the election three years early following the collapse of his coalition Team Unity administration.
 
The administration won a second consecutive term in June 2020.
 
Supervisor of Elections, Elvin Bailey, said 34 candidates representing six political parties are contesting the polls which opened at 7 o'clock this morning.
 
There is one independent candidate.
 
Voting will end at 6 o'clock.
