Three Bahamians charged in connection with ganja seizure in Westmoreland

The three Bahamians, who were arrested in connection with seizure of 2,600 pounds of ganja in Westmoreland last Thursday, have been charged.
 
A police source told Radio Jamaica News that 51 year old Ian Stewart, of  Nassau, along with 41 year old Bartholomew Pinder and 32 year old Patrick Roberts - both of Abaco Island - are charged with breaching the immigration laws.
 
They are scheduled to appear before the Westmoreland Parish Court on Wednesday.
 
The men, who entered the island illegally, were arrested during an anti-narcotics operation.
 
According to the Narcotics Police, the ganja was discovered at a property in Lancer Bay during the six-hour joint operation.
 
The drug has an estimated street value of $10.5 million.
